4. What actions should I consider after being in an automobile accident?
Do not move the vehicles, and stay in your car if you think you might be hurt.
Should the other driver attempt to leave, write down the car's license number or other characteristics of the vehicle.
Always call the police, cooperate fully, and obtain a police accident report. Be sure to tell the investigating officer if you think you might be hurt.
Identify other witnesses who saw the accident. Get their names and telephone numbers.
Do not speak with representatives of the other driver's insurance company.
Seek medical care if you think you might be hurt and take it easy after the accident. Back injuries sometimes don't start hurting until several days after an accident.
Don't let an insurance company push you around when you need to get reimbursed for your accident-related expenses and losses.

8. I understand that certain Weight Loss Products and Cold and Flu Remedies contain hazardous drugs. How do I know if the pills I have been taking are safe?
Until recently, Phenylpropanolamine (PPA), was an active ingredient in numerous over-the-counter and prescription cold and sinus relief medications, weight loss drugs and other products. The withdrawal of PPA containing products from the marketplace was prompted by the publication of a national medical journal reporting the results of the Hemorrhagic Stroke Project ("HSP"). This study disclosed that the use of medications containing phenylpropanolamine dramatically increased the incidence of stroke in its users. In fact, PPA has been found to increase the likelihood of potentially fatal complications and side effects including:
- Stroke
- Atrial arrhythmia,
- Vasospasms, and
High blood pressure
For more information about PPA and a partial list of products that had contained it, you may wish to browse our Defective Drugs section on PPA.
